EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION PROGRAMME

C P Goenka International School's Early Childhood Care and Education Programme is designed to prepare the trainee-teachers to play a nurturing and supportive role in the facilitation and scaffolding of children's learning in the early years.

Early childhood education concerns with the education of young minds from the age of 0-8 years. These are the most critical years of a child's life since development takes place at a rapid phase during these years. In this phase, small children must be exposed to variety of life experiences which stimulate their learning to the optimum. There must be a learning environment, which is joyful, safe, experiential and developmentally appropriate.

This course aims at training “Quality teachers for Quality Childcare”.

Programme Objectives

C P Goenka International School's Early Childhood Care and Education Programme is a comprehensive and experiential course, which integrates child development theories into practice, and prepares trainee- teachers to work in the early childhood industry or related elds.

The objectives are:

• To impart knowledge to trainee-teachers regarding growth, development and learning process of young children.
• To enable trainee-teachers to transfer education philosophies and child development theories into practices.
• To help trainee-teachers design, implement and evaluate learning environments and classroom activities based on the Pre-school education curriculum framework and desired outcomes.
• To develop the requisite inter-personal skills set of the trainee teachers to empower them to collaborate with parents, colleagues and other professionals.
• To develop understanding of the importance of safety aspects in the development and care of young children.
• To empower the trainee-teachers with basic health and nutritional aspects related to young children.
